About NCOFCU
The National Council of Firefighters Credit Unions, Inc. (NCOFCU) is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 professional credit union association, incorporated in the State of Florida, serving firefighters, first responders, and their families. Credit unions serving firefighters and first responders have been meeting annually since 2001. Our members represent credit unions serving firefighters and first responders from across the country. At present, there are over 100 firefighter credit unions, representing over $18 billion in assets and 800,000 members throughout the U.S. and Canada. 

Governing documents, including all relevant policies, and the most recent Form 990 informational return for the organization are made available to the public through the organization’s website. The organization’s annual audited financial statements and other financial and governance information are available to donors and stakeholders upon request, as directed by the organization’s website.

Our Mission
To provide its members with the knowledge, skills, tools, and resources necessary to ensure ongoing professional development, and the ability to deliver exceptional value to their organizations.  

Our Strategic Initiatives
To provide financial literacy training to firefighters and first responders serving as volunteer credit union directors, and supervisory and credit committee members. To promote the growth, viability, and unity of credit unions serving firefighters and first responders. To create and maintain a sharing and cooperative spirit among credit unions serving the firefighter and first responder community. To facilitate opportunities for partnerships and collaboration among our membership. Organize at least one annual educational conference. To promote the relevance of credit unions serving firefighters and first responders to the credit union community.

Our Leadership
NCOFCU is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the member credit unions. The board is comprised of firefighter credit union volunteers and executives from across the US. The board meets periodically by phone throughout the year, and twice in person, at the annual planning session and at the annual educational conference.

Diversity & Inclusion Policy
The National Council of Firefighter Credit Unions Inc (NCOFCU) recognizes the differences and distinctions of each individual, group, or organization that are represented in society and within the credit union movement. In alignment with NCOFCU’s history and goals, we define diversity in our mission to express the inclusion and advocacy for identity groups throughout the credit union community and at large. Identity groups include and are not limited to age, appearance, disability, ethnicity, gender, geographic location, nationality, professional level, race, religion, and sexual orientation. Notwithstanding, NCOFCU welcomes the membership of all individuals, groups, and organizations in furtherance of its mission to strengthen the global credit union movement.
