The National Council of Firefighter Credit Unions Inc (NCOFCU), a non-profit 501 (C) 3 corporation, is a national association that connects corporate giving to the public good by achieving NCOFCU's vision to promote education, collaboration and unity among the staff, and volunteer board and committee members of all credit unions serving first responders.
To that end, we would like to encourage our credit union vendors to contribute through their corporate giving policy to support our mission of educating the volunteer directors and staff. Your contribution will help us provide conference scholarships, training, resources, and support to the volunteers & staff, enabling them to make informed decisions and better serve their first responders and their family members.
We understand that there are many worthy causes to support, and we appreciate your consideration of our organization.Today's environment might be the most challenging one that credit union boards have faced in modern memory. The pressures of serving on volunteer credit union boards are incredibly high. Like their counterparts on boards at for-profit financial institutions, credit union boards have a major fiduciary responsibility, often without a financial background. Yet like their for-profit counterparts, they govern substantial financial organizations.
First-responder credit union board members are a diverse group and are true industry leaders. They provide insights into strategic goals and oversee risk management, which seems more significant today than ever before. Current issues include an intensely competitive environment, often from larger and better-funded entities. Organizational stresses include litigation, regulatory compliance, and technology and investment capital decisions for hardware, software, and cybersecurity protection.
We understand that there are many worthy causes to support, and we appreciate your consideration of our organization NCOFCU. Through a contribution or sponsorship, we would offer more scholarships and provide more financial literacy education programs to help fulfill our mission and purpose and continue the first responder credit union movement.
Make a difference, whether you are a credit union service provider or a fire service/equipment company, give back to the industry that supports you!
